INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Feeling a bit down lately and nothing seems to lift your spirits? Feeling a sense of dread and fear that seems to overwhelming? It might be time to seek help from an accredited professional. My Individual Therapy sessions help patients develop positive attitudes towards life’s most complex circumstances. I offer individual CBT sessions. The number of sessions you need depends on the difficulty you need help with. Often this will between 5 and 20 weekly sessions lasting 60 minutes each. CBT is mainly focussed on the here and now, helping you to feel better today.

I will meet you to discuss your current difficulties and help you set goals for you to achieve. CBT is not a quick fix and it does require hard work between sessions. Call me today and allow me to help you see things in a more balanced, positive light.

WHAT IS CBT?

CBT is a talking therapy that has been proven to help treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions. CBT looks at how we think about a situation and how this affects the way we act. In turn, our actions can affect how we think and feel. The way our body feels is linked to our emotions and thoughts. The therapist and client work together in identifying any unhelpful thoughts or behaviours and looking at how these could be changed to help the client feel better. There is a significant amount of research evidence to show that CBT works effectively in the treatment of many conditions.

CBT is a goal-focused, time-limited, collaborative therapy which aims to teach you skills to become your own therapist. In my one to one therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and work together to change unhelpful thinking and behavior. With my expertise and yours (you're the expert of your feelings after all) I will help you “re-frame” your thinking and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles.

ALL ABOUT THERAPY

According to scientific research studies, CBT is one of the most effective methods in the treatment of a wide spectrum of mental health difficulties. CBT methods and treatments are continuously backed up by empirical evidence to support their efficacy. National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends CBT for the treatment for many disorders including depression and most anxiety disorders. Through the use of various psychotherapy methods and collaborative treatment measures, my patients develop life-changing habits to help them cope with any of life’s various obstacles. My therapy sessions are designed to dissect personal issues and provide patients with effective tools to identify and correct unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving. This alleviates distress and helps people feel better and stay well in the long-term.
